The MacGregor Clan is one of the oldest clans in Scotland and was favored by the King. However, their troubles seem to have started when Robert the Bruce gave some MacGregor lands to one of his other supporters, the Campbells. The Campbells forced the MacGregor’s out of their land around Loch Awe. Growing in strength, MacGregors became tenants of the Campbells, and as a consequence, bitter enemies. In the 16th century, the feud between the two clans erupted into an all-out war after Grey Colin killed the brother of Gregor Roy. The feud resulted in eight years of battles and a blood feud that was encouraged by the Crown. On 7 April 1570 near Balloch Castle, Gregor was tried, sentenced to death, and personally executed by Grey Colin. Gregor's wife watched the execution and is credited with one of the greatest poems ever written in Great Britain.
Yet, the MacGregors are nothing, if not determined. They survived the removal of their name under the penalty of death for almost 200 years. They were legally hunted, tortured, and beheaded. Those that lay claim to their name became known as "Children of the Mist."
Dee's series follows Hamish MacGregor, a working-class lad from Balloch, a Lochside town in Scotland, who has moved to a mining village in central Lancashire in England. He has no pretensions to be anything other than what he is, but he is introduced to a world beyond his wildest dreams. He has two women who love him to distraction, and they desire nothing but his control of every aspect of their lives. He discovers that this is something they enjoy, but he also finds that the more he demands, the more they are willing to give.
Join the MacGregor family in their attempt to create a Clan based on the old ways. They intend to have the name MacGregor that was once outlawed regain its rightful place among the highest echelons of English society. A Clan that takes care of their own, no matter what or who stands in their way.
Why? Because we’re family, it’s what we do!”
The Gisburn Hall Series
Available now, and on e-book on Amazon.
The Gisburn Hall Series, a novella collection, continues with the same depth of magic, colorful characters, and passionate romance found in the authors’ highly successful and entertaining novel series, The MacGregor Series.
The Gisburn Hall Series focuses on the area most famously known for Robin Hood. Now called Gisburn Park, these stories focus on the Fae within the forests, ancient tunnels, white cattle, and other magical creatures. Gisburn Forest still stands to this very day, and the river Ribble continues to wend its picturesque way among the hills and dales, sometimes called “The backbone of England,” also known as the Pennines, with yet still a third name, often called by the Hillwalkers of today; The Pennine Way. Gisburn is filled with dark secrets, especially related to the forests. Not to mention evil historical characters such as Guy of Gisburn, who hunted Robin Hood.
